The system was installed at Hornacott Manor in Cornwall. The estate suffered from frequent power cuts and required a lot of power to run the estate. Due to restrictions on the grid, an off-grid solution was used that could also work with the grid. Callidus installed 20kw of solar panels on the workshop and on a ground mount just in front of the workshop, using the building as support for the rear of the panels. We installed a 14 kWh battery that provides power day in, day out, as well as back-up power in a power cut. The system offers back-up to the house within 20 milliseconds which means that most electrical teams wouldn’t even notice the grid being lost. If the grid was lost for an extended period of time, a back-up generator can be added for complete redundancy.
